What are the rooms like?

Stepping into any of the seven uniquely appointed rooms at Hotel Stelor feels like entering a personal sanctuary designed with relaxation in mind. The decor, inspired by the quintessential Swedish summer house, combines joyful prints, lush geraniums on the windowsill and plush sofas that invite you to sink in with a book or a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Our room gave us a sense of authentic Gotlandic charm, making it feel less like a hotel and more like a stay at a friend’s summer retreat. The attention to detail, from the homemade bread at breakfast to the carefully curated furnishings that guests can purchase, reflects the passion and dedication of Wrethagen and Ström in creating a space that’s as welcoming as it is beautiful.

The food, primarily sourced from the surrounding farms, becomes an even more significant aspect of the Stelor experience when you consider that Ström, one of the owners, is also a chef. Our favourite moments included lounging in the vast garden, a serene space perfect for meditation or enjoying the shade of old fruit trees. The hotel’s relaxed atmosphere, emphasised by the lounge’s complimentary coffee and homemade cake, is a reminder of the simple joys in life.
