This secluded retreat, situated within the tranquil expanses of an 1842 traditional farmstead, is the brainchild of us, Micha van Dinther and Magnus Wittbjer, the founders of The Nordic Nomad. Established in 2020, TypeO Loft is the physical embodiment of our dedication to mindful living and a reinterpretation of luxury – not as ostentatious excess, but as the peaceful celebration of silence, solitude and the immersive richness of the present moment.

What is the space like?

TypeO Loft, accommodating up to two adults, features a single open-plan space, gracefully interspersing the bedroom, living area and a custom-designed kitchen by Swedish brand Nordiska Kök. The room emanates an inviting warmth, cradling guests in a bubble of tranquillity that subtly mirrors the serene outdoor panorama. Framing this synergy is a floor-to-ceiling triangular window that offers an unrivalled view of the rolling hills and encircling forest, the changing play of light and shadow promising a visual treat that far surpasses the allure of any digital screen. The understated elegance of the room echoes our “more of less” philosophy, with each carefully chosen item – from vintage furniture to bed linen – up for purchase, extending the TypeO Loft experience beyond your stay.

Drenched in soothing simplicity, TypeO Loft offers a rich array of experiences aimed at nourishing the body, mind and soul. Upon check-in, guests are greeted with a breakfast selection that can be leisurely prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. What’s the region like?

Skåne doesn’t try to compete with Sweden’s north or centre – it doesn’t need to. Down here, the land softens, the pace steadies and the Danish influence lingers in everything from dialect to architecture. The cities – Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg – carry their weight, but the real rhythm is rural: broad fields, Baltic light, beaches that stretch without interruption. Skåne feeds the rest of the country, literally. Seafood, root vegetables, berries, game – all of it shaped by a farm-to-table culture that predates the phrase. Art is quiet but present.
