Poulette

Poulette, the culinary brainchild of Martin Ho and Jesper Norrie, is the answer to all your fried chicken cravings. Situated snugly next to their popular wine bar Pompette in Nørrebro, Poulette is where Nashville-style hot chicken makes its Copenhagen debut. Whether you’re tucking into their juicy, perfectly spiced fried chicken sandwich or opting for the innovative vegetarian mapo tofu sandwich, you’re in for a flavour-packed treat. Round off your meal with house-made iced tea or bubbly kombucha to soothe the spice.

Bored of bland bites? Time to spice things up. Welcome to Hija de Sanchez, the brainchild of ex-Noma chef Rosio Sanchez, shaking up Copenhagen’s food game with kick-ass tacos that are anything but ordinary. They’re all about real-deal Mexican street food, packing locally sourced ingredients into tortillas made with imported Mexican corn. Whether you’re diving into their iconic Taco Al Pastor, trying out a seasonal special, or washing it down with a swig of artisanal agave spirits, Hija de Sanchez delivers bold flavours without breaking the bank. Trust us, these aren’t just tacos – they’re a flavour fiesta.

Diamond Slice

Bite into a slice of the Big Apple in the heart of Copenhagen at Diamond Slice. This hot pizza joint, brought to life by culinary maestros Jan Kopacz, Kristopher Schram and Alex Dadzis, is shaking things up on Blågårds Plads in Nørrebro. Here, New York-style pizza gets a Danish twist, all served from a takeaway window alongside outdoor seating. Don’t miss their showstopper Hot Honey slice, a mouthwatering concoction of four cheeses, double garlic, double cream and a drizzle of hot honey. At Diamond Slice, they’re proving that a slice of pizza can be a whole lot more than just a quick bite.

Gasoline Grill

If you’re on a quest for a burger that’s fresh, juicy and downright delicious, look no further than Gasoline Grill. With several locations around Copenhagen, they’re firing up the grills each day to serve burgers made from in-house ground, organic prime beef patties. But that’s not all – their commitment to freshness extends beyond their burgers. Everything from the organic cheddar cheese, potato buns and vegetables, to their crinkle-cut fries and homemade lemonade, is organic. The result? A cheeseburger that’s not just our favourite in Copenhagen, but what we’d argue is the world’s best fast food burger. So, if you’re ready for a simple yet savoury experience of melt-in-your-mouth meat and cheese, zesty onions, pickles and their signature tangy chilli mayo, head to Gasoline Grill.

The Fat Greek Copenhagen Denmark restaurant

The Fat Greek

Get ready to be transported to a sunny Greek island with The Fat Greek, located in a spacious venue in Østerbro. Starting their journey in Boltens Food Court, they’ve now set up shop in a larger space to serve up generous gyros that will have you saying Opa! in no time. Their soft, fluffy bread envelopes an irresistible filling of juicy grilled pork, crispy fries, fresh onions, ripe tomatoes and creamy tzatziki. Though they offer chicken, lamb and vegan options too, our heart belongs to the pork gyro. Hands down, it’s the best we’ve tasted outside of Greece.
