Public Service

Opened in 2023 by Peter Gerdman, Aleksandar Stojanovski, and Axel Söderberg, Public Service gallery is dedicated to showcasing young to mid-career international artists to a Scandinavian audience. Housed in a former bank, it features two floors of exhibition space spread over more than 300 square metres, following a renovation of the premises by Stockholm-based architectural studio Halleroeds. With Gerdman bringing international experience from leading art world institutions, Stojanovski knowledgeable about the Swedish art scene, and Söderberg bringing diverse experience from business and design, this gallery aims to establish a creative platform for collaboration with institutions, artists and curators.

CF Hill

One of the city’s most compelling independent galleries is CF Hill, which focuses on showcasing quality exhibitions and artists – emerging as well as mid-career and art historical icons – that in turn promote dialogue between generations. Named after Carl Fredrik Hill, one of Sweden’s most talented landscape painters, the art gallery is housed in a 17th-century palace in central Stockholm. In 2015, Anna-Karin Pusic, Michael Storåkers and Michael Elmenbeck founded the gallery, becoming one of Sweden’s most influential art spaces.
