Eilert Smith Hotel, a gem in Stavanger’s architectural landscape, offers a captivating blend of history and modern design. Named after its original designer, the renowned architect Eilert Smith, this boutique hotel harmoniously integrates with the city’s mix of old wooden houses and contemporary buildings. Built in the 1930s, a period celebrated for functionalistic architecture in Stavanger, it originally housed the machine department of Felleskjøp, a Norwegian agricultural cooperative. The building’s evolution is a testament to architectural ingenuity, preserving its historical essence while embracing contemporary aesthetics under the guidance of Pål Trodahl from Trodahl Arkitekter.
