At its location on the fashionable pedestrian shopping street Biblioteksgatan, Swedish fashion brand Tôteme invites patrons into an aesthetic universe that breathes timeless minimalism, but with an edge. The flagship store, which is designed by Halleröd, was inspired by an Upper East NYC townhouse and features a domestic layout with a living room, a bedroom, a library, a walk-in closet and a space for shoes. The store is furnished with design classics by among others Andrée Putman, Eileen Grey and Marc Newson.
Founded in 2014 by style journalist Elin Kling and husband Karl Lindman, a former model, Totême marries references from classic American sports fashion with European minimalism to create a relaxed yet refined uniform-inspired look in a neutral colour palette. This has proven to be an exceptionally successful recipe and has rapidly grown into a cult brand in the Nordics and around the world.
